An Idea Is Born

Gamma Phi Delta Sorority, Inc. was founded February, 1943, by the late Elizabeth Garner, teacher and the late Violet T. Lewis, owner of Lewis Business College, Detroit, Michigan.  The founders, along with the other eleven members are known as the Sorority's 13 Original Pearls.  Gamma Phi Delta Sorority, Inc. Headquarters is located at 2657 West Grand Blvd, Detroit, MI 48202-1203.  Our Headquarters received the West Grand Boulevard African American Arts & Business Historic District.

Our Purpose

Organized exclusively for charitable, religious, educational and scientific purposes, including for such purposes, the making of distributions to organizations that qualify as exempt organizations described under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code or corresponding section of any future federal tax code.

Who We Are

The Northern Region consist of members in Michigan, Ohio and West Virginia. Presently, there are 13 active chapter in our Region. Please see the Membership page for more information.
